It's a Whiskey cocktail, but it's... fancy. This is a pretty basic cocktail with some bits and pieces added to make it a bit fancier. Try this as a way to try whiskey in a different way.The recipe suggests a Blended Scotch Whiskey, but feel free to try it with any Scotch Whiskey really. You may find a new way to enjoy one of your favourites.Other than that, there's not a lot to say about this drink. There's obviously elements of the standard Old Fashioned in there, but it's expanded by the addition of the Triple Sec, adding orange flavours, which tend to go well with Whiskey.Have fun.

Notes
As with pretty much any cocktail, the quality of your drink is only going to be as strong as your ingredients. You may be tempted to use a cheap Blended Whiskey here, thinking it will be disguised by the addition of Triple Sec and sweetened up a bit, but that won't do at all. You want the Whiskey to shine through in this drink! And with that in mind, try a few different Whiskeys to see how they stack up against each other. Scotch Whiskey on its own can be very good of course, but can also be enhanced with other ingredients. This is what this cocktail is trying to do.
