A Mexican Mule cocktail in a highball glass.

Mexican Mule

Print Recipe
Part Margarita, part Moscow Mule, all tasty, the Mexican Mule is a cocktail that combines the Tequila and Triple Sec of a Margarita, with the Ginger Beer of a Mule. And of course it has Lime Juice, which is common to both cocktails. Now, don't confuse the Mexican Mule with a Mezcal Mule. Sure, you can use Mezcal in a Mexican Mule, instead of Tequila, but this cocktail really embraces and pushes the Margarita aspect in the Mule equation. Meanwhile, the Mezcal Mule does its own thing, both in terms of being a variation on the Mule formula and just being a great Mezcal cocktail.
Any way you look at it, the Mexican Mule is another great cocktail that you can add to your arsenal of Mules. We've said it before, but the Mule is all about the great taste of Ginger Beer with Lime Juice. The base alcohol is just there for a slightly different spin on an already great mixture.
So go ahead and experiment a little bit, and have fun.

Notes

Like other Mule style cocktails, the Mexican Mule can't be any easier. It's not quite the simple three ingredient cocktail that the original is, but it's still pretty easy to make. And it tastes damn good.
If you've tried other styles of the Mule, give this one a go too. It's a good way to try different spirits and see what you like. Making different styles of Mule is also a good excuse to expand the spirits and general ingredients in your site. That definitely makes our cocktail builder a lot more useful. Why? Well, you have more ingredients to plug into the cocktail generator and see what you can make with the ingredients you have on hand. It's all about discovering, trying, and enjoying new cocktails without having to search and figure out what you can make with what you have.
So get the Mules rolling. Start with this one and try some more. It's party time.
