Almost a classic, the Million Dollar Cocktail dates back to the early 20th Century. It's almost a Martini in that it's Gin and Vermouth, but takes a sharp turn with not only Pineapple Juice (which would still keep it in Martini territory) but also Egg White and Grenadine. Of course just adding Egg White doesn't make it a sour though... this drink is in a category all its own. It's also possible that this drink came about in the late 1800's, so there's a span of a few decades when this recipe may have first been invented. Since we can hardly pinpoint a date for this drink first being made, we can't expect to get much more information. But more on this later...Is this cocktail really worth a million dollars? We like it! We'll let you decide if it's worth the price tag.

Notes
The two main theories as to who invented this cocktail are Ngiam Tong Boon from Singapore and Louis Eppinger in Japan. Boon is famous for the invention of the Singapore Sling while Eppinger is most know for the Bamboo Cocktail. Most people think it was probably Eppinger though.
