Sex on the Beach
Vodka and Peach Schnapps, a wonderful combination! A classic cocktail with a tantalising name, this is a great cocktail to have on your menu. Other than the slightly unusual addition of Peach Schnapps, there's not much to say about this cocktail. The flavours are pretty bold, but also smooth and easy. Although there's plenty of alcohol in this drink, it's not very forward in the taste. This makes a Sex on the Beach both tasty but a little dangerous. It's hard to tell how much you're drinking and can easily get carried away, so watch out!This cocktail is often served in a hurricane glass, but a tall glass will do as well.
Ingredients
- 45 mL Vodka
- 30 mL Peach Schnapps
- 60 mL Orange Juice
- 60 mL Cranberry Juice
- Garnish with a wedge of orange
Instructions
- Put Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Orange Juice, and Cranberry Juice in a tall glass with ice and stir until things are cold and well mixed.
- Add garnish and drink.

The Sex on the Beach dates back to the 1980's, so it's not a super old cocktail but it's far from being new. It was most likely invented by Ted Pizio out of Florida who was trying to create an easy to drink cocktail for people going to Florida for vacation. He figured sex and the beach were big appeals to people, so it would take off with such a name. And it seemed to work!
