Stinger cocktail on a wood table.

Stinger

Print Recipe
The Stinger is a simple combination of Cognac and Creme de Menthe. It's a little unusual but somehow it works, especially as an after dinner or dessert drink to sit back and enjoy with. What's also unusual here is that the Stinger is shaken, rather than stirred. With only two ingredients it doesn't feel like it needs a shake, but it adds to dilution, especially with the mint.
To that end, the Cognac to Creme de Menthe is usually proportion in a 2:1 ration, which will work well for most, however feel free to modify this depending on your personal tastes.
Total Time 3 minutes

  • 60 mL Cognac
  • 30 mL Creme de Menthe

Instructions

  • Add ingredients to a mixing glass with ice.
  • Stir until everything is mixed together and chilled.
  • Strain into a Rocks glass with fresh ice.

Notes

As you can note, the recipe clearly calls for Cognac, which will taste the best in this cocktail. However, you can experiment with a generic Brandy instead if that's what you have.
