A Woo Woo cocktail pictured at an unusual angle.

Woo Woo

Print Recipe
Similar to a Sex on the Beach, the Woo Woo ditches the Orange Juice for a bit of Lime Juice but keeps the refreshing taste of Vodka, Peach Schnapps, and Cranberry Juice. Enjoy this drink any time of year, but particularly in the summer months.
This cocktail is also sometimes called the Teeny Weeny Woo Woo, but we think the shorter name works a lot better.
Total Time 5 minutes
Servings 1 cocktail

Ingredients

  • 50 mL Vodka
  • 25 mL Peach Schnapps
  • 100 mL Cranberry Juice
  • A few drops of Lime Juice
  • Garnish with a wedge of lime

Instructions

  • Add Vodka, Peach Schnapps, Cranberry Juice, and Lime Juice to a cocktail shaker with lots of ice. Shake until very cold.
  • Strain into a glass of your choice.
  • Add garnish, enjoy.

Notes

As with a lot of other drinks containing Peach Schnapps, the Woo Woo comes out of the 80's. It seems to have a bit of a tropical vibe but it's not as tropical as a lot of cocktails containing more vibrant fruits like Pineapple or Coconut. That doesn't matter though, it's a fun cocktail that tastes great, so just enjoy!

Do We Have More to Say About the Woo Woo? Yes We Do!

Whether you call it the Teeny Weeny Woo Woo or just the Woo Woo, it doesn’t change the fact that this is a nice and tasty cocktail. It’s refreshing and just a little bit tart, but balanced out by the Peach Schnapps. Have a read of a few more thoughts we have on the Woo Woo!

Can I make more than one Woo Woo in the same shaker?

Yes, feel free to shake up two Woo Woos at once if you’re looking to share a cocktail with a friend (and honestly, it’s better that way). Just don’t let the cocktail sit for too long, as it’s always good to serve shaken cocktails relatively fresh. And remember not to add the ice until you’re ready to serve your cocktail, unless you want something very diluted.

When should I drink a Woo Woo?

Like the Sex on the Beach, the Woo Woo is designed to be a refreshing and easy to drink vacation drink. It’s not an overly sophisticated or complicated cocktail, it’s just fun and easy! Sure, the Cranberry Juice makes the Woo Woo look great and attractive, but it’s also quite unassuming.

With all of that in mind, go on vacation to a resort in a sunny area, get yourself by the pool, put your feet up, and order yourself a Woo Woo. This would be the best time to have one of these! Having a Woo Woo at the bar at said resort would also be great, but it’s even better by the pool. Go for it!

Is the Woo Woo strong?

It’s got a kick to it, yeah. If it was just the Vodka and Cranberry Juice is wouldn’t be too bad, but the addition of 25 mL of Peach Schnapps starts pushing the Woo Woo into “strong” territory. You wouldn’t say it’s a very strong cocktail (compared to some with a lot of alcohol), but it’s still stronger than many others. Let’s put this in the slightly strong cocktail category.

What music goes well with a Woo Woo?

Something unobtrusive… we don’t want to look down on this cocktail or background music in general, but, being a resort drink, we’re thinking some fairly generic and relaxing background music they play at resorts. Maybe it’s a mix of tropical and island genres like Calypso, Reggae, some light Bossa Nova. It sounds bad to call it “generic resort music” because there’s some great music in those genres…! But enjoy one of these cocktails with something relaxing and easy. Sit back and relax.
