We Have Even More to Say About the Sex on the Beach Cocktail
The Sex on the Beach is a pretty famous cocktail. Maybe it’s in the name (and we know the name was intentional), or maybe it’s because it’s tasty. It’s probably both! Even a cocktail with a really cool name that tastes terrible wouldn’t be popular. And even if this had a bad name, it would still be ordered because people like it!
Can I batch this cocktail to make more than one at once?
Although you may think you could make more than one Sex on the Beach in a mixing glass, this actually wouldn’t work too well. This cocktail is built in the glass and not stirred, so the ingredients are somewhat separated. This creates not only a great looking cocktail, but one with different flavours throughout. Make these one at a time.
Do I have to serve the Sex on the Beach right away?
We’d suggest serving this cocktail immediately after making it, otherwise the ingredients may become too mix together. Sure, the ingredients will mix together simply by drinking the cocktail, but the initial presentation is everything!
When is a good time to have a Sex on the Beach?
As the name would suggest, on the beach! This cocktail is designed to be an easy to drink vacation cocktail. We’re sure plenty of people like to whip these up at home, but the recipe is designed for vacationers! So whether you’re sitting on a beach sipping one of these, or in some sort of beachside cabana bar, the Sex on the Beach would do well.
But hey, we can’t all be on vacation all the time. Although on the sweet side, a bit fruity cocktail like this doesn’t really suit after a meal. But it doesn’t suit before a meal either. We’d suggest this as a relaxing afternoon cocktail. You may even want to have a go with brunch!
Is the Sex on the Beach Cocktail strong?
It’s a little bit strong, but not too bad. While it would probably have a similar amount of alcohol (in total) to something like a Martini, all that fruit juice and fruit flavours can be dangerous, making you forget you’re drinking something with alcohol in it! So although the ABV of this cocktail actually isn’t too bad, you can be tricked into thinking it’s not too bad. That’s where things get dangerous…
Is there a type of music that goes well with a Sex on the Beach?
Let’s say Salsa music! Being invented in Florida, and Florida having a large Hispanic population, we think a music genre like Salsa is more than appropriate! It’s music you’d imagine played at a beach side bar in the state, it has a somewhat tropical vibe to it, and it just works. If you’re not into Salsa, some sort of Cuban Jazz would go well. Barring that, any Latin American music really! Have fun with this cocktail, it’s a fun party cocktail.
