Notes
Is There More To Say On The Addington?
There is indeed. While this is a really simple cocktail to both make and enjoy, there’s still plenty to say about it. Firstly, the Addington is a great excuse to use up the last bits of your Vermouth. But that’s not the only good thing about it. It also tastes good!
Is stirring more than one cocktail at the same time fine to do?
With a cocktail like the Addison, if you want to stir more than one serving at once, you should still get a great cocktail out of it. Just remember to top up the final mixed drink with Soda Water.
If I mix an Addison, can I serve it later?
You’re fine to mix just the Vermouth, but don’t add the Soda Water until you’re ready to drink the cocktail. All you need to do is remove the mixed Vermouths from the ice and leave the mixture in the refrigerator until you’re ready to serve or drink your Addison cocktail.
Is there a perfect time to drink an Addison?
This is a lovely and refreshing cocktail that mixes both sweet and dry flavours very well for an excellent balance. Because of that, it’s a cocktail that works in a variety of situations. While it’s not a super low alcohol cocktail, it’s lower than a lot of drinks like Beer and Wine. Consider having one when others are having a drink (cocktail or otherwise) but you want to keep things a bit slower.
Alternatively, the Addison can be a nice cocktail to have on your own at the end of a long day. It’s great to relax with and tastes great.
How strong is the Addison?
We’re classifying the Addison as a low alcohol cocktail. Since there are no spirits in the recipe, it’s only the two Vermouths that are giving this recipe any alcohol.
Vermouth does have alcohol in it, of course, but compared to most spirits out there, it’s not terribly strong. Add to the fact that this recipe is further watered down with Soda Water, and you have a fairly light drink.
What kind of music goes best with an Addison?
This one is up to you! While it’s a great cocktail, the Addison doesn’t really “say” a lot.
If you’re looking for specific music suggestions, keep it light and easy, just like this cocktail recipe. Just relax and kick back.
