The Gin Blossom is another riff on the Gin Martini that changes things up a little bit with a different kind of Vermouth from your standard Dry Vermouth as well as the addition of Apricot Eau de Vie for something even more creative. This makes the ingredients in this cocktail slightly more unusual than what many will have at home, but maybe you stumbled on this recipe because you were seeing what cocktail you can make with the ingredients you have on hand, and you happened to have some unusual ones!As Martini style cocktails go, the Gin Blossom is a relatively new one. This cocktail wasn't invented until 2008 by Julie Reiner of the Clover Club in Brooklyn, New York.If you're getting tired of the standard Martini, perhaps it's worthwhile to try and make a Gin Blossom. It's still pretty simple, but just different enough to keep things interesting.

Notes
Since this is a relatively modern cocktail recipe, there's not really much room to add your own spin or interpretation on it. To that end, as much as you can, use the "proper" ingredients including a Plymouth Gin (rather than a London Dry) and a Bianco Vermouth. You may be tempted to just use a Dry Vermouth, but it's just not the same as Bianco. With that being said, don't use Sweet Vermouth either. Use Bianco!
